We’ll do the job right the first time, but some homes do peel or blister within two years of being painted. If this happens to your home, call our customer service centre at 1-855-53 PAINT. We’ll send someone to assess the work and determine if it is covered by our warranty. If it is, Northern Breeze Painting will then schedule a time to fix the job. We encourage you to read about our warranty which is located on the back of your estimate. There are some items that we do NOT cover within our warranty and we will be transparent about this.
Our supervisors are extensively trained, with classroom and field training, learning business, service and painting skills. Additionally, each supervisor has weekly communication with their supervisors to continually develop his or her skills. We select only the best supervisors each year. Many of our painters have previous experience, but everyone receives training on real homes under real conditions. Every crew has a Supervisor with years of painting experience to ensure things are being done right and to stay in touch with you, the homeowner.
Yes. A Job Site Supervisor supervises every job. He or she is on-site and available to answer your questions daily.
The Northern Breeze Painting warranty protects your home against failures (blistering and peeling) caused by poor workmanship or materials. There are restrictions to the warranty. Failures caused by unforeseen or underlying problems, such as moisture, rotted wood or previous layers of paint failing, and problems caused by factors beyond our control, such as mildew growth, are not covered. Flat, horizontal surfaces, such as decks, are also not covered in the warranty. Horizontal surfaces take a beating from foot traffic and the elements, which is why it is standard in the painting industry to stain and seal horizontal surfaces rather than paint them. Please read our full description on the back of your estimate sheet, or Click Here.
If the paint colour you have chosen is different from the old one, it will probably require two coats (even though we use premium paints). Please note that our painting quote is for one coat unless otherwise specified; the possibility of two coats should be discussed during our first meeting with you. If a coat of paint is applied too thick, it will not dry or adhere properly. We will not just “load it on” to ensure coverage. If you have an older, and particularly wooden, home, with many layers of old paint, the end result of the paint job will be a subtly textured surface. This is normal. Scraping peels only loose paint, it does not remove all paint. Even after scraping and prepping, the surface we start painting will be uneven. To strip off every spot of paint back to the wood for a pristine, smooth look is very expensive as it requires paint remover and/ or propane torches and an intensive amount of work. This is not a service that Northern Breeze Painting offers.
Yes. All our workers complete working at height training. Once on the job all workers go through a week long training program to implement what they’ve learned. Finally, they must attend a ministry approved course to ensure they are competent in working at heights and general safety skills.
